The Penguin House is owned and maintained by Kerry & Greg, Phillip Island locals who love entertaining and showing their family and friends around the island.

The pair spent the 2021 lockdowns sprucing up the superb beach house to make it as relaxing and comfortable as they would want their own house to be. The holiday rental is perfect for many visitor combinations with several bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a large yard.

The Penguin
Kerry & Greg took over the home from Grant Smith (Smitty) after he sadly passed in 2020. Grant had made the Penguin House famous when he installed the original hand-carved and painted penguin in the front yard, as you can see pictured to the right with Kerry & Greg posing in front of it.
The penguin was carved out of the remaining timber from his sister's property, which was destroyed by fire in the Black Saturday bush fires 2009. The tin sheeting in the stairwell of the house is also a tribute to Grant's sister as it came from the remains of her property.
The original penguin, unfortunately, rotted and met its demise in 2018, so as a tribute to Grant and to keep the tradition alive, Kerry & Greg have commissioned a local artist Darren Henderson (Daz) to reconstruct the famous penguin for tourists to marvel at once again. Watch this space!
